Day With Doll took place on August 13, 2011. We had about 75 wonderful creative dollmakers present. It was a wonderful day filled with lots of exchange of ideas and a beautiful display of awesome dolls. Unfortunately, I was busy "working" that I didn't get any pictures so if any of you who did can send me some, I'll post them. Thanks so much to all who attended. Thanks to Colleen, Kathy Hoffer, and Victoria Adams Brown of Ribbonsmyth for their wonderful demonstrations. I hope everyone enjoyed making my favorite fabric flowers.
The One Kiss Opportunity doll was won by Cynthia. Congrats and I hope you enjoy her. There were close to 60 charity dolls made! WOW!!! Thanks soooo much to all who participated. What a wonderful gift for such a worthy cause.
All proceeds from the event will benefit the Booton Presbyterian Church who was kind enough to allow us to use their facility. Thanks again.
As promised, I am posting the how to file and the pattern for the Project doll. These I did get pics of and as soon as I download them, I will be posting them. Check out the links on the left for the directions and pattern for this doll.

Come Early for a Wonderful Museum Tour!
For those who would like to make this a two day excursion the following has been suggested. Come Friday around 1pm and go to the Morris Museum by 2pm for the demo of the automata. We did this the first year of Day with Dolls but since then an entire building has been constructed to house the Guinness collection. There are three exhibits going on of interest to dollmakers and quilters.
Morris Museum Guiness automata collection and a fiber exhibit: Visual Thoughts: The Art Quilts of Fiber Revolution. Also, an exhibition of 87 hats and 52 purses representative of style eras from the 1770’s to the 1970’s. Twenty Judith Leiber bags from a private collection will also be on view. See MorrisMuseum.org. Look under exhibitions, current and future.
Stay overnight at a nearby motel on Rt. 46. We can plan to go to the museum in the afternoon. Time and admission cost TBD. We can have supper at Blackthorn’s Pub on Rt. 46 (or someplace else), maybe go to Michael’s and then whoever wants to help, go to the church to set up for Saturday.
All will meet at Diane K’s house and go together to museum. Must be at Diane’s house by 1pm! Check the box on your registration form and contact Diane for arrangements.
